What to Look Forward to at the iNACOL 2019 Symposium

With the iNACOL 2019 Symposium right around the corner, we’re breaking down everything you need to know, plus everything you won’t want to miss at this year’s event.

What to Expect

iNACOL 2019 takes place in beautiful Palm Springs, California at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The symposium kicks off on Monday, October 28th and goes through Thursday, October 31st. With pre-conference workshops, keynote speakers, networking opportunities, and more than 200 conference sessions available, there’s something for everyone at iNACOL 2019. The mission of iNACOL is to transform education systems so that high-quality learning is available for all, and they’re doing that by offering an abundance of different sessions and workshops that cover a variety of topics, helping to fit everyone’s unique needs and interests.

Shining a Light

The theme of iNACOL 2019 is “shining a light on the future of learning.” The innovation corner is sure to do just that by featuring a school showcase, a tools showcase, and student galleries. The school showcase will give schools who have successfully implemented competency-based learning and technology a platform to share their success stories with others. The tools showcase will give attendees the opportunity to interact with and try tools that are helping to advance personalized learning. The student gallery is a great place for attendees to hear directly from those most impacted by education reform—the students! And don’t miss out on the Innovation Corner; it’s sure to impress.

Noteworthy Guests at the iNACOL 2019 Symposium

This year’s symposium will bring together some of the best minds in education technology and innovative learning as featured keynote speakers. Among these speakers are Dr. Brooke Stafford-Brizard, Derek Wenmoth, Jacki Statum Allen, Superintendent Kirsten Baesler, Dr. James Lane, and Dr. Pedro Noguera; all experts in their field. The keynote sessions are a must-see, and the symposium organizers planned no other workshops or sessions during these scheduled keynotes so that attendees have the opportunity to hear all of them.

Work it Out

As the only international conference focused solely on transforming K–12 education, iNACOL strives to provide unique sessions and conference tracks so that each individual attendee can walk away having gained something valuable. With hundreds of workshops and sessions available during the symposium, educators have lots of choices to make. Fortunately, iNACOL has grouped specific sessions together so that attendees can choose to focus on a specific topic by sticking to any of the 25 conference tracks available. Attendees also have the option to move freely throughout the conference by jumping into as many different workshops as possible.

Whether you are looking for new competency-based learning tools for your district, hoping to share your innovative practices with others, or just looking to network with educators who have the same goal of education transformation in mind, the iNACOL 2019 Symposium is the place to be. Start packing for Palm Springs and enjoy this year’s symposium!
